I have copied the Church Records of both Errigal Trough & Tyholland so I was aware of Edward Stanley there. Some very interesting people chose to be married at these Churches over the years.

On page 480 of the same book there are details of Patrick Bride's role in the bank. From that description it would appear the address of the business was 40 rather than 4 Bride Street.

I am also a bit sceptical about the Hanley reference, I have mistaken Stanley for Hanley on a number of occasions when dealing with handwritten records.

Thank you Richard for the areas you have indicated. I don't know why it has been so difficult finding this family, especialy the children which will complete this line. I have had no problem in finding all the families for Edward, b: 1660 & all the family trees but a dead end when it comes to the Roberts. Edward was a brother to Thomas whose child was Robert, b: 1727, his Robert, b: 1757. I do have "The House of Stanley"

Any further comments or any knowledge of this family would be appreciated.

According to Peter Stanley in his book 'The House of Stanley' Robert Stanley, a Captain in the Army, married Anne, daughter of George Adamson of Cloneggan, Westmeath. There are no details of any children. It does however give a surname for Robert's mother, she was Jane Sherlock.

Robert William Frederick Stanley's 'Pedigree of Stanley' has the following details Captain Robert Stanley of Inchmore, Co. Westmeath, Ireland married Anne, daughter of George Adamson Esq. of Clonegegan House, near Moade, Westmeath, Ireland. Moade is probably the market town of Moate on the Dublin to Galway road. The name Clonegegan or its variants in these posts do not appear on the maps, however there is a place called Cloneyagon near Moate.

Peter Edmund Stanley 'The House of Stanley: the history of an English family from the 12th century'. Pentland Press, Durham, 1998, ISBN: 1858215781, Page 448.
