The photograph opposite is the memorial to those from the Parish of St Lukes, Loughgall who gave their lives in World War I.

Heading the column on the left is Captain Gordon Alexander Deane who died from his wounds on 11th April 1918. He was with the 1st Battalion Royal Irish Fusiliers.

Gordon was the son of Charles Chatterton Deane and Adelaide E Deane (nee Stocker). Charles Deane was the Doctor in Loughgall for many years.
