Marriage of Sarah Littlewood and Thomas Reginald Bunton 1925

NEWRY WEDDING

In St. Patrick’s Church, Newry, on Easter Monday, a marriage was solemnised between Miss Sarah (Sally) Littlewood, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Acheson Littlewood, Basin Walk, Newry, and Mr. Thos. Reginald Bunton, son of the late Mr. Thomas Bunton, and of Mrs. Lydia Bunton, Southend-on-Sea. The bride, a well-known local vocalist, was a leading member of St. Patrick’s Church choir, and the bridegroom is the agent of an insurance company with offices in Coleraine. The Church, which was decorated with plants and flowers, was crowded with friends and well-wishers of the bride. Clad in a dainty coloured gown and carrying a beautiful bouquet she was given away by her father. Her bridesmaid was Miss Ethel Atwell, of Canal Street, and the bridegroom was attended by Mr. Jack McCullough, of Merchants’ Quay. The ceremony was performed by the Rector, the Rev. S. M. Hankey. As the happy pair left the Church flowers were strewn in their path by sisters of the Newry’s First Women’s L.O.L., of which the bride was an enthusiastic member, and other tokens of congratulations were showered upon them.
